Vinicius is a superstar in Japan

Despite the disappointment of missing the Copa America, Vinicius Junior has enjoyed a wonderful debut season with Real Madrid and has gained superstar status in Japan.

The Brazilian sensation is becoming increasingly marketable, and as part of the first stage of his holiday in Japan, the former Flamengo forward fulfilled several advertising commitments.

One of which came with one of the Real Madrid soccer schools based in Tokyo, and it quickly became clear that his popularity is on a scale far different to anything people imagined at this early stage of his career.

More than 50 fans greeted him at the airport to obtain his autograph and take photographs with him, and this was totally unexpected.

Yet, this would seem a relatively minor occurrence when he saw what was awaiting him at the soccer school later the same day.

Upon arrival to take part in an exhibition match with local Japanese players, the stands were completely full and almost everyone in attendance was chanting his name.

Back in the offices of the club in the Spanish capital, there are some very pronounced grins indeed, with those behind the scenes at Real Madrid acutely aware that the process to turn Vinicius Junior into a marketing machine has already begun to take shape.

Vinicius Junior has already been requested to be one of the faces for the new Selecao home shirt by Nike, even though he won't end up representing the team at the Copa America this summer.

He is also the face of Los Blancos' affiliation with the Gaga Milano brand, which has doubled in advertising revenue since the Brazilian's arrival.

Furthermore, according to transfer portal Transfermarkt, Vinicius Junior's market value has reached 70 million euros, exactly double what it was at the beginning of January.
