Eintracht Frankfurt are firm on Jovic price tag as talks with Real Madrid begin

They want 70 million euros for the striker

Real Madrid and Eintracht Frankfurt have begun talks for the transfer of Luka Jovic, and the German club aren't backing down from their asking price of 70 million euros.

Los Blancos consider this figure to be too high and negotiations will continue to find an agreement for a deal that everyone involved expects to be completed eventually.

Frankfurt bought Jovic from Benfica for a pre-agreed fee of 6m euros and 30 percent of any further transfer fee will go to the Portuguese club.

That means that if Frankfurt do get 70m euros for the forward then 21m euros of that, plus the 6m euros already paid for his permanent transfer, would go to Benfica and they would be left with 49m euros.

If Real Madrid manage to lower that figure to 60m euros, Frankfurt would end up with just 36m euros after they'd paid Benfica.

This, combined with Jovic's 17 Bundesliga goals and 10 Europa League goals, are the two reasons why the asking price is so high.

Los Blancos want to include players like Raul de Tomas, Mariano or Jesus Vallejo as part of the deal, but Frankfurt would prefer the money.

The two clubs have a good relationship thanks to previous dealings, including Jesus Vallejo's two-year loan in Germany.

Jovic and Frankfurt are competing for a Champions League place on the final day of the Bundesliga season and will probably need a result at Bayern Munich, who themselves are going for the title.
