Aaron Ramsey breaks down in tears as he says goodbye after 11 years at Arsenal

Arsenal's hopes of finishing in the top four came to an end on Sunday with a 1-1 draw at home to Brighton.

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang got the Gunners off to a good start from the penalty spot, only for Glenn Murray to equalise from a spot-kick of his own in the second half.

It means that Arsenal need not only to hope Tottenham Hotspur lose on the final day but for an eight-goal swing in their favour.

It's a disappointing end to Arsenal's season at the Emirates - their home record has been very good this season, after all.

Only Manchester City and Liverpool boast better records, this being only the fifth time Arsenal have dropped points at home.

But this wasn't just the final home game of the season, it was the final home game before three first-team players leave the club.

The most significant of those is Aaron Ramsey, who is moving to Juventus after 11 years in North London.

Arsenal took the opportunity to say goodbye at the Emirates, bringing Ramsey out onto the pitch to an ovation from the crowd and a guard of honour from his teammates.

The moment clearly got to Ramsey, too, moving him to tears as the crowd chanted his name.

The Welshman has certainly had a notable career with Arsenal. He arrived as a player with a very bright future but suffered a horrific leg break in his second season.

It kept him out for a year but Ramsey recovered to become a key player for the Gunners over his time there, winning three FA Cups.

Ramsey wasn't the only player saying goodbye, either.

Petr Cech will retire at the end of the season after four years with Arsenal. It was announced that Danny Welbeck will also leave, having joined from Manchester United in 2014.

Ramsey was the truly emotional goodbye, though - he's a player that Arsenal are surely going to miss.
