Birmingham to face Wigan without Harlee Dean
Posted Friday, April 26, 2019 by PA
Harlee Dean will miss Birmingham’s final two games of the season as he needs an operation.
The defender has been playing with a hernia problem but will now have surgery to cure the issue and ensure he is ready for next season.
Maikel Kietenbeld will be sidelined for months after suffering a serious knee injury earlier in April.
Connor Mahoney’s hamstring strain could clear up in time for him to feature against the Latics.
Wigan have secured their spot in the Sky Bet Championship so manager Paul Cook may be tempted to shuffle his pack.
Winger Anthony Pilkington remains doubtful and midfielders Gary Roberts (calf) and Callum McManaman (hernia) are on the sidelines.
Fellow midfielder Michael Jacobs is out for the last couple of games with a hamstring injury.
Nick Powell is fit after an unspecified problem earlier in the month.
