Zinedine Zidane is plotting a spending spree this summer after returning to the club as boss.

Real have struggled to perform this term and are expected to splash out in order to become contenders again.

A number of stars will likely be moved on in order to fund any incomings and Bale could be among those, having clashed with Zidane last season.

And according to Marca, the Welshman will leave the club this summer as part of a major clearout.

The report claims Real chiefs are unhappy with Bale's downturn in form and may consider letting him leave on loan with the option to buy if nobody is prepared to pay their asking price.

The forward enjoyed success in the Premier League with Tottenham and it is thought he'd favour a move to England should he leave.

And Marca claim Real are hoping United will act on the interest they've shown in recent transfer windows.

United are yet to enquire about the 29-year-old but with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer keen to add to his frontline, they remain the most likely to make a move.

Marca claim Arsenal would be unable to afford Bale, while he would have reservations about joining anyway due to his history with Spurs.

Chelsea have also shown interest in the past but may not be able to make any signings after being slapped with a transfer ban by FIFA.

Meanwhile, Tottenham and Liverpool are well stocked in attacking areas and Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola has never shown interest in Bale.

Options elsewhere in Europe include Bayern Munich and PSG but Marca report neither club would be prepared to pay Bale's wages as well as a transfer fee.

One option open for Bayern would be to sign him on a two-year loan deal, similar to what they did with James Rodriguez.

Despite Real's hope that United will move for Bale, Solskjaer reportedly prefers Jadon Sancho, who represents much better value for money at 18 years old.

United are back in Premier League action tomorrow evening as they welcome fierce rivals Manchester City to Old Trafford.
