League Two play-off rivals Stevenage and Exeter share spoils

Stevenage’s play-off charge was dealt a blow after they were held to a 1-1 draw by promotion rivals Exeter at the Lamex Stadium.
Victory would have seen Dino Maamria’s side leapfrog the Grecians into seventh place but Ryan Bowman’s equaliser means they find themselves 10th, while Exeter hold a slender two-point lead over four teams as they remain in the last play-off spot.
Kurtis Guthrie scored for his fourth-successive game to hand Stevenage the lead as the in-form forward converted from Luther Wildin’s cross approaching the half-hour mark.
But five minutes before the break, Ryan Bowman’s deflected effort levelled proceedings.
The Grecians almost struck twice in two minutes as Randell Williams fired against the crossbar.
After the break, Stevenage goalkeeper Paul Farman pulled off a great save to deny Williams.
Emmanuel Sonupe squandered a glorious chance to put Boro back ahead when he fired wide from 10 yards out before Guthrie missed a couple of presentable chances to put the hosts ahead in the second half.
And right at the death, Bowman seemingly grabbed the winner before realising the linesman’s flag was up for offside as the spoils were shared.
