REAL MADRID have been urged to sign Bayern Munich star Thiago Alcantara instead of Manchester United and Chelsea players Paul Pogba and N’Golo Kante.

Real Madrid have been backed to lure Pogba and Kante away from Manchester United and Chelsea respectively when the transfer window reopens at the end of the campaign.

It has been a tricky campaign for Los Blancos so far and, with Zinedine Zidane back in charge, a summer overhaul is now expected to commence.

Real Madrid have openly flirted with the idea of signing Pogba who, reports in Spain have claimed, will push to leave Manchester United.

Kante is another player reportedly on Zidane’s radar as he aims to challenge for silverware next season.

But Celta Vigo striker Aspas believes they should instead raid Bayern for Thiago.

"I would sign [Eden] Hazard because he'd be more affordable than Kylian Mbappe," Aspas told Marca.

”Pogba or [N'Golo] Kante? Neither. They're not Real Madrid players.

"I like the midfield, which is now at its best.

“They have Dani Ceballos, who's an international but hasn't had continuity and, for example, I like Thiago Alcantara more than Pogba and Kante."

Aspas has been in fine form ever since joining Velta from Liverpool back in 2015.

The 31-year-old has racked up an impressive 83 goals from 149 appearances, leading to talk he could leave.

Real were linked back in the summer but, ultimately, ended up signing Mariano Diaz from Lyon instead.

But Aspas has insisted he is happy to stay at Celta.

"I'm very comfortable and at home," Aspas added.

”Right now, I can't see myself wearing a shirt that's not Celta's.

“I’ve not thought about whether or not I would play in the Segunda because I don't think we're going down.

"I would discuss it with the club, but I'm not thinking about it."
