Sheffield United vs Millwall - Sheffield United to check on O’Connell’s fitness for Millwall clash
Posted Thursday, April 11, 2019 by PA
Promotion-chasing Sheffield United will again check on Jack O’Connell ahead of the Championship match against relegation-battlers Millwall.
The defender suffered a calf injury in the home defeat to Bristol City and has missed the past two matches.
Martin Cranie came in for the midweek 1-1 draw at Birmingham and could start again.
Striker Gary Madine returned to action after completing his three-match suspension with half-an-hour off the bench and is pressing for a start.
Millwall will have midfielder Shane Ferguson available again following suspension for the trip to Yorkshire.
Ferguson has now served the three-match ban he received for picking up a red card in the FA Cup quarter-final against Brighton, but has also been laid low by illness.
Lions boss Neil Harris named an unchanged starting XI for the midweek 0-0 draw against QPR. Goalkeeper Jordan Archer has been struggling with illness, so David Martin could deputise again.
Forward Tom Bradshaw remains unavailable as he continues to recover from a long-term knee injury.
