PARIS SAINT-GERMAIN are plotting their revenge on Manchester United for knocking them out of the Champions League by offering David De Gea £400k-a-week to quit.

The Spanish No1, 28, is holding firm with his sky-high wages demands after being locked in an 18-month contract stand-off with Old Trafford chiefs.

Now both PSG and Real Madrid are hoping to take advantage of the situation with a mega-money move.

De Gea has rejected a number of offers in recent months, with United reported to have offered £300,000 and £350,000-a-week deals.

But the Spaniard is determined to double his money and rake in £400,000 per week in a bid to close the gap to top earners such as Alexis Sanchez - currently raking in £505,000-a-week.

Now, PSG are set to swoop and pay De Gea what he believes he is worth.

De Gea is out of contract at United next summer - and Old Trafford bosses have claimed they would rather risk losing him on a free than sell him in the coming window.

That means the French giants may play the long game, lure the ex-Atletico Madrid star next summer without paying a penny in transfer fees.

The only issue for PSG is that despite playing hardball on an improved contract, De Gea does appear to want to stay in Manchester.

Meanwhile, Real Madrid have contacted De Gea over a summer transfer - with Thibaut Courtois set to axed by the Spanish giants.

Los Blancos are once again reigniting their interest in the Spain No1 with Zinedine Zidane set to go to war for his signature.

United supporters believed they were out of the woods last summer when Real finally ended their interest in their star stopper.

Julen Lopetegui instead turned to then-Chelsea stopper Courtois in a £40million deal, as Old Trafford followers breathed a sigh of relief.

But now, returning Madrid boss Zidane has revealed he is not happy with the ex-Blues No1 and is willing to dump him for a financial loss this summer.
