Ross County move five points clear at top after narrow Inverness win

Ross County ended a run of two consecutive defeats and extended their Ladbrokes Championship lead to five points with a 2-1 win at 10-man Inverness.

The visitors took the lead after only eight minutes when Josh Mullin fired home from just outside the penalty box.

Inverness had the perfect chance to level after 21 minutes when they were awarded a penalty but Scott Fox turned away Jordan White’s spot-kick.

But they were level three minutes later when Carl Tremarco headed home Joe Chalmers’ corner off the underside of the bar.

County restored their lead in the 34th minute as Andy Boyle headed home from close range after Mullin’s corner was volleyed across goal by Ross Draper.

Inverness then suffered a blow on the stroke of half-time when Charlie Trafford was sent off for a second yellow card after a foul on Jamie Lindsay.
