Raith Rovers cut the gap on Arbroath at the top of Ladbrokes League One thanks to some late drama.
Arbroath led at Forfar through Michael McKenna’s goal in the 19th minute, but Dale Hilson’s 11th of the season brought the hosts level at the break.
The Red Lichties still looked set to head home with a point until Lewis Moore’s 89th-minute goal won it for Forfar.
There was also drama at East Fife, who led Raith Rovers 1-0 with three minutes of normal time left thanks to Kevin Smith’s goal four minutes before half-time.
But the Kirkcaldy men stormed back as Iain Davidson (87) equalised and Kevin Nisbet grabbed a winner two minutes later to cut Arbroath’s lead at the top to 10 points with five games to go.
Bottom side Stenhousemuir reduced the gap to ninth-placed Stranraer to two points as they won 2-1 at Dumbarton.
David Marsh (27) and Conor McBrearty (72) put the Warriors in a strong position with Craig Barr halving the deficit in the 85th minute.
Stranraer were beaten 3-1 at Montrose, whose goals came from Lewis Milne (21), Euan Henderson (35) and Paul Watson (55). Stranraer’s goal was scored by Andrew McDonald (58).
Montrose remain a point better off than sixth-placed Airdrieonians, who were 3-0 winners away to Brechin.
The Diamonds took a 29th-minute lead through Kyle Wilkie and Scott Stewart made it 2-0 just before half-time.
Leighton McIntosh made sure of the points with a goal four minutes into the second half.
