JOSE MOURINHO could make his return to the dug-out in England for the first time since his Manchester United sacking at Tottenham, it has been claimed.

Mourinho has been out of work since he was sacked by United in December following a miserable first half of the season.

The former Chelsea boss claims he has already snubbed several offers to take up new roles while he waits for the right challenge.

But ESPN claim he has been offered a short-term position as assistant manager of an Inter Milan Legends side on Saturday.

The Italian team take on a Spurs Legends side this weekend in the final test event at Tottenham's new stadium.

A crowd of 45,000 is expected to attend the match as the London club seek the safety certificates they need to begin playing Premier League football there.

The first league game is due to take place on April 3 when Crystal Palace make the short trip north across the capital.

It follows the successful opening event held last Sunday which saw Tottenham's Under-18s side beat Southampton 3-1.

The Inter team will be managed by Francesco Toldo, the former Italian international goalkeeper.

He worked closely with Mourinho while he was in charge of the Serie A club, leading them to an historic treble.

And the article claims Toldo has asked his old boss to come and work alongside him this weekend, although Mourinho has yet to respond.

Ironically, Mourinho is also being linked with a return to the San Siro as he weighs up his options since leaving Old Trafford.

There have been no shortage of offers for his services, but the 56-year-old is aware he cannot afford to make any mistakes with his next club following the manner of his exit from United.

Inter are said to be on the lookout for a new boss with current manager Luciano Spalletti likely to be sacked this summer - but Mourinho has a rival for the role in the shape of Antonio Conte.
