Massimiliano Allegri backs teenager Moise Kean to learn on the job at Juventus

Juventus manager Massimiliano Allegri has backed striker Moise Kean to learn as he grows after his double set up a 4-1 home victory over Udinese to send the Serie A leaders 19 points clear at the top of the table.

Kean shone as Cristiano Ronaldo remained on the bench, the Portuguese an unused substitute at the Allianz Arena as an Emre Can penalty and a Blaise Matuidi header saw Juve dominate.

The visitors scored a late consolation through Kevin Lasagna but Udinese remain seven points above the drop zone following the defeat.

Kean, 19, netted both of his goals before half-time but Allegri feels there is room for improvement.

The manager told the Juventus website: “He is very good at attacking, but he must improve his movement to dictate the passages of play. But he is young and will grow.”

Allegri said he was satisfied with how his players controlled the game and with them reaching 75 points.

He added: “We had prepared well for this and 75 points is a nice total to reach 11 games from the end of the season.

“Tonight everyone worked hard and as we had the ball, we were able to dictate.”

Allegri turned his attention to Juventus’ Champions League appointment with Atletico Madrid when they will be eager to overturn a 2-0 first-leg deficit in the round-of-16 tie on Tuesday.

Allegri added: “It will be a different game and it will take more accuracy in passing.

“We will have to be good in the last 25 metres because they are tight at the back and do not leave space.

“We will have to always go hunting for the second ball, but I’m confident. We will be ready.”

Kean admitted he was learning every day at the club.

He said: “I’m always ready to go when the coach calls me and obviously in every training session as well. Being at Juve helps me a lot, I’m learning all the time and this is the best place.”

Kean added of the victory: “It gives us confidence for Tuesday. From now on we’re only thinking about this match.

“I think my first goal was more difficult since we were dribbling forward and it was a fast move.”
