Colchester’s top scorer Szmodics in line to return against Newport

Colchester are hoping to be boosted by the return of top scorer Sammie Szmodics at home to Newport.
Szmodics missed the 3-0 defeat at Swindon with a chest infection, but the 11-goal marksman has trained this week and will be assessed before kick-off.
Brandon Comley (knee) and Harry Pell (hamstring) remain out, and eighth-placed Colchester have suffered further injury blows to midfielder Tom Lapslie and striker Louis Dunne.
Lapslie pulled up in training with a hamstring tear and has been ruled out for three weeks, while Dunne was on the wrong end of a heavy tackle playing for the under-23s on Monday.
Newport boss Michael Flynn says he has a couple of injury concerns as the Exiles, five points from the play-off positions, try to stay in the promotion hunt.
Flynn chose not to go into detail at his pre-match press conference, but defender Fraser Franks (illness) and midfielder Andrew Crofts (hamstring) definitely miss out again.
Midfielder Matty Dolan could miss out after being forced off in the first half of the 2-0 home win against Carlisle last weekend.
Padraig Amond will celebrate his call-up to the Republic of Ireland squad for the first time by leading the Exiles’ attack.
