TWITTER users have called for the Arsenal fans who filmed themselves during Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang's missed penalty against Tottenham to be banned from attending matches.

The Gabon international had the chance to win the North London derby on Saturday but saw his spot kick turned away by Hugo Lloris.

Lloris kept out to the spot-kick to secure a draw

Aaron Ramsey earlier gave the Gunners the lead before Harry Kane's penalty had drawn Mauricio Pochettino's side level after the break.

Lloris' save secured a 1-1 draw and could be crucial in the race for the top four, with Spurs in third just three points ahead of fourth place Manchester United and Arsenal a further point back.

But the importance of the moment was seemingly lost on a clutch of visiting fans at Wembley.

Victory would have given Arsenal a first league win on the road against a big six rival for over four years.

Many Arsenal fans were left red-faced by the incident

Not since the 2-0 win at Manchester City in 2015 have the club beaten one of their closest competitors on their own patch in the Premier League.

Instead of cherishing the moment many fans whipped out their phones to document the moment and posted the footage to their social media accounts.

And with Aubameyang going on to miss, the various bits of video have been compiled in a montage.

Various Twitter accounts have taken aim at the reactions and lamented the trend of fans preferring to bolster their own online profiles than actually enjoy the sport.

Tomst wrote: "All these men filming themselves should be banned from every ground in the world. They care more about their number of followers than their team."

Anthony P added: "I don't know what's worse. Idiots filming themselves watching football. Or the muppets who watch people who film themselves watching football??"

James Moran said: "Doesn't anybody actually just watch the football anymore it's a nld ffs put your phones away and experience life."

Fellow Arsenal fans Mattcuti stated: "And yet I'm less a fan because I watch the games from my couch. Embarrassing."
