Jack Ross to check on Sunderland injury doubts ahead of Plymouth clash

Sunderland boss Jack Ross will run the rule over a series of injury doubts as the League One promotion hopefuls go in search of a third successive victory when they entertain Plymouth.
The Scot was keeping his cards close to his chest as he finalised preparations for the game, revealing only that he had “concerns over two or three”, but declining to name those players whose participation may be in doubt.
Ross did, however, rule out Bryan Oviedo and Chris Maguire through injury, but there was better news on Donald Love.
The former Manchester United defender has been sidelined since September, but is back in training after recovering from a knee problem and could return to contention.
Plymouth manager Derek Adams has a doubt over leading scorer Freddie Ladapo, who took his tally for the season to 15 with a double in last weekend’s 5-1 demolition of Rochdale.
Ladapo, a January target for the Black Cats before they landed Will Grigg, has missed training this week with a thigh problem and while he will travel to Wearside, a late decision will be taken on his fitness.
Ryan Taylor, who is yet to score this season, is standing by to deputise should Ladapo not make it.
Adams will have to make at least one change regardless, with midfielder Antoni Sarcevic starting a two-match ban after reaching 10 bookings for the season.
