Rare Ousseynou Cisse goal helps MK Dons ease past Newport

Ousseynou Cisse scored his first goal since August to help MK Dons make it three League Two wins in a row with a 2-0 success over Newport.
Chuks Aneke added a second late on for Paul Tisdale’s side to boost the hosts’ ambitions of an automatic promotion spot.
The Dons went close inside 16 minutes when Dean Lewington – making his 700th career appearance – found Kieran Agard on the edge of the Newport box but his first-time shot fizzed inches wide.
Referee Sebastian Stockbridge pointed to the penalty spot after the hosts’ Conor McGrandles was felled inside the box under Dan Butler’s clumsy challenge – only for Newport goalkeeper Joe Day to save Agard’s tame spot-kick.
The Dons’ first goal came through the unlikely Cisse, whose second goal of the campaign arrived when McGrandles’ cross found the Mali international unmarked inside the County box and he emphatically headed home.
Substitute Aneke added his 16th goal of the season and his side’s second late on as Tisdale’s men rounded off a comfortable victory.
