Charlton Athletic vs Southend United - Bauer and Taylor banned for Southend clash
Posted Friday, February 08, 2019 by PA
Charlton are without the suspended Patrick Bauer and Lyle Taylor for Saturday’s League One visit of Southend.
Central defender Bauer misses out following his red card against Fleetwood, leaving Lee Bowyer’s team short, with Jason Pearce also out with a foot injury.
In their absence, the on-loan Krystian Bielik is expected to start.
With Taylor still out, deadline-day signing Josh Parker is also pushing to make his home debut following his substitute appearance at Fleetwood.
Southend’s Luke Hyam, Stephen Hendrie and Harry Bunn are all hoping to be passed fit.
Hyam and Bunn have been struggling with hamstring injuries and Hendrie an abdominal problem.
Should their manager Chris Powell wish to make changes to a losing team, Michael Kightly and Stephen McLaughlin are pushing to start.
Mark Oxley, Ben Coker, Tom Hopper, Harry Kyprianou, Lewis Gard, Sam Barratt and Rob Kiernan are all again expected to miss out.
