CHELSEA boss Maurizio Sarri targeted Eden Hazard in a dressing room attack on his players in the aftermath of their 4-0 defeat to Bournemouth on Wednesday.

Chelsea suffered their heaviest defeat since 1996 after a second-half collapse at the Vitality Stadium.

Sarri then kept his players in the dressing room for nearly an hour and they spoke about their failings.

And the Telegraph claims Sarri gave the players a damning review of their performance with Hazard among those singled out.

The report says Sarri accused Hazard of being selfish and not following instructions.

It was claimed Sarri asked the players for their observations on how he could do anything better.

Significantly, it is understood Sarri’s reliance on Jorginho has left players questioning his approach.

Bournemouth boss Eddie Howe revealed after the match that part of their game plan was to target Jorginho.

And the Italian midfielder was also picked on in recent defeats to Tottenham and Arsenal.

Sarri’s position at Stamford Bridge is not thought to be under pressure but Chelsea’s season dipped after a promising start.

Speaking after last night’s defeat, Sarri questioned whether he was able to motivate his players.

“In that moment I wanted to talk to them alone, without anybody,” Sarri said in his post-match press conference.

“I needed to understand, it was so different in the first and second half.

“I want to try again tomorrow.

“At the moment they can react against a big team, when we play against a big team we can play with a big level of motivation.

“But in this match it was different, suddenly after the first goal we were not able to play.

“I think it was a different situation, of course [the problem] about the mentality.”
