Neymar on Real Madrid rumours: When there's something certain, I'll talk

Speculation linking Paris Saint-Germain's Neymar with a return to Spanish football to join Real Madrid has been played down by the forward.

The Brazilian became the world's most expensive player when he left Barcelona two years ago to move to the French capital for 222 million euros.

In addition to offering his thoughts on the rumours linking him with Los Blancos, he also had some choice words for those who spread lies about him.

"There's always speculation about me, about whether I'm going to leave to join other clubs," he told Canal+.

"But there is nothing concrete. When there is something certain, rest assured that then I'll talk to everyone.

"I'm aware of everything that surrounds my name, both the good and the bad.

Neymar was keen to make a point about some of the negative press that had been circulating.

"Lately, many things have been made up such as being accused of taking drugs on New Year's Eve.

"I'm a great athlete and a little crazy but I'm not that stupid."At the same time, I'm very happy because if you talk about me, it is because I've got a lot of quality and I'm among the best."

The Brazilian star also wanted to hit back at those who criticise him for his over-exaggeration of fouls and revealed that he has settled better than he thought he would in French football.

"I suffered from many fouls in the World Cup and if you look at those actions, most of the time there is a kick," he continued.

"It wasn't theatrical and I am the only one to suffer those fouls. Defensive marking is hard because if they leave me alone, then I'll make something happen for my team.

"Today, we talk a lot about what happened but as I said before, if we are talking about it, it is because it is about Neymar and all news will be amplified, be it positive or negative.

"I'm pleased with how I've adapted to French football though and it was easier than I expected because Ligue 1 is a lot like LaLia Santander.

"With the city, it took a little longer for me to adapt and I suffered for a while but now I feel at home."
