AFC Fylde up to fourth with victory over promotion rivals Wrexham

Ashley Hemmings scored twice as AFC Fylde continued their Vanarama National League promotion push with a 2-0 home win against Wrexham.
Fylde, who are now four points behind leaders Leyton Orient, went close in the 15th minute when Jordan Tunnicliffe saw his header tipped over the bar by Rob Lainton.
The breakthrough came just before the break as Hemmings smashed home the loose ball after Nick Haughton had dribbled into the box only to be challenged.
Hemmings doubled Fylde’s lead five minutes before the hour. When Haughton found Dan Bradley in space, the former Kidderminster forward picked out Hemmings for a powerful finish beyond Lainton.
It was a fourth straight loss for Graham Barrow’s Wrexham, who drop below Fylde and into fifth place on goal difference.
