James Rodriguez: Arsenal alerted to £3m bargain deal, Bayern Munich willing to let star go

JAMES RODRIGUEZ is supposedly available to Arsenal for just £3m with Bayern Munich ready to end his loan spell from Real Madrid.

The Gunners have been alerted to the possibility of taking over the deal until the summer.

Rodriguez is currently 18 months into his two-year loan with the Bundesliga champions.

His long-term future at the Bernabeu remains unclear given Zinedine Zidane was the manager who let him leave but he has resigned since.

In the meantime, though, Rodriguez has fallen out-of-favour at Bayern too under Niko Kovac.

Carlo Ancelotti had brought the Colombia international to the Allianz Arena.

However, his successor in the Bayern dugout has not used Rodriguez regularly.

Unai Emery is eyeing a solution to the Mesut Ozil situation at the Emirates, with Arsenal's £350,000-a-week playmaker struggling to get picked on matchdays.

If the Gunners can find a club who will match Ozil's wages or at least take him off their hands, Rodriguez would fill the void as a top creative midfielder.

Bayern's deal with Real for Rodriguez back in the summer of 2017 was a £11.5m loan fee with an option to buy for £39.5m.

And now, according to the Daily Mail, Bayern would let him go if Arsenal pay the £3m to which Real would be entitled for the six remaining months of his loan.

Rodriguez's potential arrival in north London is not specifically said to rely on Ozil leaving the club this month.

And it is unclear whether Arsenal would take the 2014 World Cup sensation on a permanent basis should he join on loan to begin with.

Emery needs reinforcements going forward, having eyed Barcelona's Denis Suarez, but Arsenal are restricted financially.

And the manager has outlined he can only sign players on loan in January as a result.

The opportunity to land a global superstar like Rodriguez for a bargain figure, though, may prove too good an opportunity for the club to pass up.

The Daily Mail add Arsenal have put him on their list of potential signings in the current transfer window.

Ozil, meanwhile, will be pushing for a recall this week as he aims to convince Emery he has a future in north London.

The squad are preparing for their crunch Premier League visit from Chelsea on Saturday (5.30pm).
