Chelsea's need for a new number nine
At just over the halfway point in the 2018/19 season, it is clear Chelsea need a new striker.
Olivier Giroud has scored just one league goal for Chelsea this campaign and is simply not good enough.
Alvaro Morata has also struggled for form this season although the Spaniard has scored five league goals compared to Giroud's one.
However, Morata looks to be edging close to a Stamford Bridge exit this January.
Sevilla are said to be keen on Morata, while Atletico Madrid are also seemingly stepping up their interest in the Chelsea forward.
At Madrid might find a way to finance the cost of Morata if both player and Chelsea reduce their expectations. Chelsea's need for a new number nine was once again on display vs Newcastle.
With Giroud and Morata underperforming, Sarri opted to play Eden Hazard through the middle.
However, Hazard is not a natural striker and it was quite clear on Saturday as there were often times when Chelsea's full-backs were the only players in the Newcastle box.
After the Newcastle game Sarri also stressed that his side need to attack the box more:
"For his characteristics, of course, he goes in the direction of the ball. We need to learn to attack spaces, or attack the box with the other players.
"We need to improve in attacking the box. When the ball is outside, it is impossible for Eden to stay in the box."

Juventus reject Chelsea's loan offer
In order to attack the box more, Chelsea really should be playing a centre-forward.
The player Chelsea seem to want to sign as a replacement for Morata and to improve their goal scoring is Gonzalo Higuain.
Higuain is currently on loan from Juventus at fellow Serie A side, AC Milan.
Chelsea are said to want to sign the Argentine on loan for either the remainder of the season or for 18 months.
But according to the Evening Standard, Juventus will only sell Higuain to Chelsea if they accept AC Milan's deal they made for Higuain last year.
That deal would involve Chelsea paying out £32m for Higuain in the summer, if they wished to sign him permanently.
Taking said deal is something Chelsea are reportedly not keen to do.
