The German club last week came under fire from Chelsea chief Maurizio Sarri for saying they wanted to sign Callum Hudson-Odoi, but that won’t stop them chasing Morata.

Morata’s days at Stamford Bridge appear to be coming to an end as the Blues are currently scouring the market for a new striker.

Top of their list is Juventus hitman Gonzalo Higuain, who is currently on loan at AC Milan.

The Blues held negotiations with the Argentina international’s brother, who acts as his agent, earlier this week but have not yet struck an agreement.

Morata has struggled for goals since his £60m move to Chelsea, and Express Sport understands the German champions are contemplating offering him a way out of the club.

It’s understood the Bavarians are keen to bring him in on loan until the end of the campaign, when they’ll assess whether or not to pursue a permanent deal for his services.

Earlier this week, Sarri revealed he’s open to allowing Morata leave west London, so long as the club can find a suitable replacement for him.

"If Morata goes to another club we need a replacement,” the Italian said when asked if he’s willing to let Morata leave this month.

"At the moment Morata is here, so he has to think only about playing. In this moment in Europe, there are 300 players involved in the market.

"They only need to think about the next match otherwise it’s impossible to play.”

Bayern will face a difficult task to sign Morata as they’re in Chelsea’s bad books over their pursuit of Hudson-Odoi.

Sarri lambasted the Germans on Friday over their decision to publicly announce their interest in the midfielder, who is understood to be contemplating a move abroad.

"I think it’s not professional, because they are talking about a player under contract with Chelsea,” said Sarri.

"So they didn’t respect our club.”

Chelsea return to action next Saturday when they travel to the Emirates to take on fifth-placed Arsenal.

Bayern, meanwhile, will take on Hoffenheim at the Wirsol Rhein-Neckar-Arena on Friday night.
