NEYMAR SR has insisted rumours that his son is desperate to return to Barcelona are NOT true.

Neymar left the Nou Camp in the summer of 2017 to join French champions Paris Saint-Germain.

The Brazil international signed a five-year contract with the Ligue 1 side, who shelled out ï¿¡200m to acquire his services.

However, rumours that the striker wants to leave the Parc des Princes began to swirl a little over a year into his blockbuster deal.

In November, it was reported that the 26-year-old is unhappy in the French capital and wants to return to Catalunya.

It was even claimed that his representatives have discussed a potential move back to the Nou Camp with Barca chiefs.

Spanish outlet El Mundo recently reported that Neymar is desperate to return to Barcelona and that his dad has told the club how ‘disappointed and very sorry’ the family are for allowing him to join PSG.

Neymar Sr didn’t take too kindly to the report and channelled his Donald Trump on Instagram to slam the claim.

Earlier today, he posted a screenshot of Globo Esporte’s story citing El Mundo’s report, which had ‘fake news’ emblazoned across it.

Neymar Sr may have insisted his son isn’t pining for a return to Barcelona, but the Catalans have already hinted that they’re interested in re-signing the former Santos man.

“All players who are in the market are likely to come if they fit our needs,” Barcelona’s sporting director Pep Segura told La Vanguardia.

"Today, Neymar is not in the market.

“If one day there is a possibility, does anyone believe that a club like Barca does not have to consider it?

“In the case of Neymar and anyone, we must give our partners the best."

Neymar and his PSG team-mates will be back in action tomorrow afternoon, taking on Amiens at the Stade de la Licorne.

Barcelona, meanwhile, take on relegation-threatened Eibar welcome to the Nou Camp on Sunday.
