On Wednesday morning, Arturo Vidal deposited the 18,489 euros debt that he owed to a Turin-based travel agency, which they have been chasing for over a year.
However, the repayment may come too late to save the seizure of his assets, which he attempted to prevent.
On Tuesday, MARCA reported that the seizure had been ordered of four properties belonging to Vidal in Moncareli area of Turin.
After ignoring repeated judicial communications to repay the debt by a December 31, 2018 deadline he finally made the payment on Wednesday.
He has also requested that, despite failing to meet the deadline set out for him, the Court of Turin freeze the case and do not send put his four properties up for a public auction.
Vidal is also likely to have to pay further costs for the judicial process.
