Hartlepool beat 10-man Maidenhead

Hartlepool took advantage of Maidenhead being reduced to 10 men for the final 40 minutes to win 1-0 at York Road.
Josh Hawkes scored the only goal for the visitors in the 17th minute when his shot from distance found the back of the net, although Maidenhead’s goalkeeper will feel he could have done better.
Maidenhead’s hopes of finding a way back into the match were not helped when James Comley was shown a straight red card five minutes after half-time for his challenge on Luke James.
Chances were few and far between but Hartlepool missed the chance to double their lead in the 66th minute when Niko Muir’s effort at the back post was well saved by Pentney.
Liam Noble came close to scoring a second for Hartlepool, but he sent his long-range free-kick just wide.
