Chelsea news: Matt Le Tissier says Maurizio Sarri should consider selling N'Golo Kante

That is according to Southampton legend and Sky Sports pundit Matt Le Tissier.

Kante has started every Premier League game this season under new head coach Sarri.

However, the World Cup winner has been moved out of his natural central position in midfield.

The arrival of Jorginho from Napoli has pushed Kante to the right of a midfield three.

Sarri was quizzed on his decision this week and claimed he wanted a more technical player in the middle.

"I want to play a central midfielder who is a very technical player, so for me, it's Jorginho or (Cesc) Fabregas,” the Italian said.

"I don't want Kante in this position.”

Le Tissier admits he feels sorry for Kante after the success he has had for club and country in recent years.

And he says Chelsea might as well cash in because the 27-year-old is not as good in his new position.

"I feel sorry for him, I really do,” Le Tissier said.

"He’s one of the best in the world in that position.

"Unfortunately this coach doesn’t want to play in a way that suits him.

Chelsea news: N'Golo Kante only signed a new contract in November

"He’s playing him a little bit out of position and you feel for players when they’re being asked to play in a unnatural position.

"They’re not going to be as good as playing in their natural position.

"I have a lot of sympathy for him and if this is the way the coach wants to play, he actually might as well sell N’Golo Kante.”

Kante only signed a new five-year contract at Chelsea last month.

Chelsea are back in Premier League action on Sunday when they welcome Fulham to Stamford Bridge.
