AFC Fylde seal victory at struggling Hartlepool

Hartlepool slumped to a sixth straight National League defeat as they were beaten 2-1 at home by AFC Fylde.
The visitors started on the front foot, with Gime Toure and Danny Rowe both going close in the opening six minutes.
Carl Magnay cleared a Rowe shot off the line, while at the other end Ryan Donaldson should have put Hartlepool in front but missed his kick from six yards.
Rowe opened the scoring just before the break, flicking a header past Scott Loach from Nick Haughton’s inviting cross.
Loach denied Rowe when he was clean through at the start of the second half, before Pools midfielder Conor Newton’s long-range strike was tipped onto the crossbar.
Donaldson was denied by Jay Lynch and Pools found themselves two goals behind when substitute Arthur Gnahoua found the bottom corner.
Liam Noble’s penalty offered Hartlepool late hope, but Fylde held on.
