A willingness to make sacrifices has never been in question for Unai Emery, who has always shown an extraordinary ability to adjust to new surroundings, and now the Arsenal coach has admitted that he is trying to improve his English by watching Peaky Blinders.
The former Paris Saint-Germain boss has his own private teacher at the London club, but has curiously found the popular television show a useful tool in expanding his linguistic skills.
Ever since joining the Emirates club, Emery has always insisted on giving his press conferences in English, even in his first ever appearance as head coach.
"Now, to improve my English, I am watching Peaky Blinders," Emery admitted.
"It's good, but it isn't easy to understand the Birmingham accent.
"It's aggressive but very good."
After beating Bournemouth 2-1 on Sunday, his Arsenal side have now gone 17 games unbeaten (13 wins, 4 draws) and are fifth in the Premier League table with 27 points, just one behind Chelsea.
