Dover climb off foot of table with Hartlepool win

Dover moved off the bottom of the National League after securing back-to-back home wins by overcoming Hartlepool 2-1.
Pools goalkeeper Scott Leach had already denied Bobby-Joe Taylor and Jamie Allen before he was beaten by Bedsente Gomis in the 20th minute.
Inih Effiong doubled Dover’s lead seven minutes before half-time, firing in from close range from Josh Debayo’s deflected cross.
Gomis and Effiong headed good chances over for Dover early in the second half while Marcus Dinanga nodded wide at the other end.
Josh Hawkes did reduce the deficit in the 84th minute – Pools’ first away goal for 470 minutes – but it proved in vain as they suffered a fifth successive defeat in this division.
