Tom Walsh helps Inverness end winless run

Tom Walsh’s second-half strike proved enough as Inverness ended a run of seven straight Ladbrokes Championship draws with a narrow 1-0 victory over Partick Thistle at Firhill on Saturday afternoon.
The hosts enjoyed the majority of first-half chances with Blair Spittal firing wide early on and Jai Quitongo having an effort held out, while Sean McGinty and Kris Doolan also missed the target.
At the other end, Liam Polworth and Walsh were both denied by Thistle goalkeeper Cammy Bell as the scores remained goalless at the break.
George Oakley’s close-range header was kept out six minutes into the second half and Inverness’ pressure paid off 20 minutes later as Walsh curled the ball into the top corner.
The home side had a penalty saved with 15 minutes remaining after Charlie Trafford handled the ball in the box, but Spittal was denied as his spot-kick was saved in the bottom-right corner.
