Paris Saint-Germain's young star Kylian Mbappe has claimed that he is in charge of paying his own taxes not the French club, despite reports to the contrary.
The World Cup winner spoke out in the wake of the Football Leaks investigation which looked into the supposed conditions in his transfer to the French champions in 2017.
"I want to specify that I pay my own taxes in France, for all my income," he said, in an interview with France Info.
Mbappe denied reports that he demanded a payment of 10 million euros from PSG to compensate him for the taxes he pays and deemed them 'totally false'.
"For me, the important thing to see was that the club could give me the best chance to continue my progression," he continued.
"It was a natural decision to choose PSG."
