Aaron Williams extends Chesterfield’s long wait for league win
Posted Sunday, November 04, 2018 by PA
Aaron Williams scored in the last minute of stoppage time to prevent Chesterfield getting their first league win since August as Harrogate forced a 1-1 draw.
It was Chesterfield’s Jonathan Smith who scored the opener when second-half substitute Jerome Binnom-Williams crossed the ball into the box in the 57th minute for his team-mate to tap it home.
Chesterfield will feel unlucky not to have gone 2-0 up when Jerome Binnom-Williams had a chance late into the second half, but the shot was deflected behind for a corner.
Liam Kitching and Mark Beck both had headers saved with minutes to spare but Harrogate got their goal in the seventh minute of stoppage time when the corner fell to the path of Williams.
