Arsenal PATHETIC for Aaron Ramsey handling - he may help Liverpool win title - PAUL MERSON

ARSENAL are pathetic for the way they’ve treated Aaron Ramsey – and he could be playing for Liverpool soon instead of against them.

Arsenal are PATHETIC for how they're treated Ramsey, says Merson

I don’t understand what my old club are doing. How can you let a player that good run down his contract like this? It’s a nonsense.

It makes no financial sense to lose him on a free so they might as well sell him for whatever they can get now in January.

If Liverpool want him they might as well do a deal now. He would fit in there and he would help them challenge for the title.

Manchester City are a much stronger, deeper team than Liverpool at the moment, but Ramsey could help change that.

Whoever gets him will be getting a very good player. He makes good runs, scores goals, and has the vision to pick a pass.

He’s a proven player and because of his contract you could get him on the cheap while it will could cost Arsenal around £40m to replace him.

Maybe Unai Emery has someone else in the pipeline he knows can replace Ramsey, or maybe he thinks he can get a better player on less wages.

But it just seems strange. It makes no financial sense and I cannot believe what they have done letting it get this far.

It’s not a situation like Alexis Sanchez or Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain were in, because Ramsey has always wanted to sign.

He is being pushed away. He has a right to ask for more money. But what hey gave Mesut Ozil changed everything.

It was so much money.

Ramsey’s not even asking for the same salary. But at times this season he must think he deserves it because there have been games where Ozil has disappeared.

Whatever happens, he will get a chance to see how good Liverpool are today. I can’t see anything but a Liverpool win if I’m honest.

Merson is predicting Jurgen Klopp's men to come out on top against Arsenal today

Arsenal have gone 13 games unbeaten but I’ve said all along they will get found out and if Liverpool bring their ‘A’ game it could be nasty.

I can’t believe Arsenal have gone so long without losing because they could easily have lost so many of those games.

People say they will always score goals. Yes, they will. Against the lesser teams. Not Liverpool. That back four looks solid.

I’d be shocked if Liverpool don’t win this game. I don’t think Arsenal are as good as people think they are.

They look good going forward but defensively they are all over the place.

Teams score simple goals against them.

They were 2-1 up against Crystal Palace with time running out and let Wilfried Zaha have a one-on-one with Granit Xhaka in the box. How can that happen? It was so poor.

Arsenal are too open. People think Emery has fixed them but he hasn’t.

He’s realised they are just going to have to try and outscore the opposition because he knows they can’t defend.

Putting Alexandre Lacazette in at centre forward makes them a better team in my opinion.

He holds it up and gives you pace and goals. Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang is electric and he’s a top finisher but won’t bring other players into the game.

I think they should both start against Liverpool, but it won’t make any difference to the result.

FRANK LAMPARD has every chance of managing Chelsea one day if he keeps going the way he is.

I was so impressed with his Derby side at Stamford Bridge in midweek.

They scored four goals and still lost – but you couldn’t score those two own goals again if you tried. They were so unlucky.

Even though they went behind early, they kept trying to play out from the back and they could have won the game.

Fair play to Frank and Jody Morris because I didn’t think that was a good job to take for them.

Derby had a lot of older players and didn’t have a lot of pace. But they’ve brought in some good youngsters and were bang unlucky at Chelsea.

Now they’ve got to do it every week and win promotion.

I’m very impressed with what Frank has done. His team play good football and you can tell the players like him.

You are only ever a few bad results away from the sack as a manager and he has a long way to go, but he has all the tools to be

successful.

I’m sure Blues fans would love to see him in charge, and it wouldn’t surprise me if he’s in the dugout there one day.

Merson is backing Lampard to become Chelsea manager some day after an impressive showing

LEICESTER should not have to play today.

They are still grieving and I don’t think they should have to play this game. It’s too early.

I feel really sorry for them. It was a terrible tragedy and it’s going to be tough for them to concentrate against Cardiff.

It was unbelievable what Vichai Srivaddhanaprabha did for Leicester. He gave them a dream. They wouldn’t have won the league without him.

You have to have an owner behind you doing stuff and he did. The whole place loved him.

Y ou can see that from the flowers and the messages and the grief.

It makes you appreciate how loved he was.

If the players want to play this game then good for them. But it could have been postponed. It’s still a bit raw. I hope it doesn’t affect the result.

They could come out determined to win it for him and put on a performance, or it could go the other way. I hope it doesn’t. It’s a hard one.

He did so much for Leicester and they will be thinking about him all day.
