The Reds conceded their first home Premier League goal of the season at Anfield on Saturday when beating Cardiff 4-1.

Liverpool look to have solved their long-running defensive problems after the arrival of Alisson and centre-back Virgil van Dijk.

But one Liverpool fan living in Mexico took to Twitter to slam the goalkeeper after his display against Cardiff.

The supporter's message, written in Portuguese, roughly translates to: "You are not at the level of the Reds!

"Better now or get out!"

But after being supported by a wealth of Liverpool fans, Alisson bit back after the game.

"Did you see the size of your rejection, you idiot?! #YNWA," he responded.

The argument continued with the Liverpool supporter replying: "I'm a Red and it doesn't matter if you and your followers call me an idiot and they offend me, I never walk alone.

"What you have to say is in the field. Be worthy of that shirt, even now it's not."

But Alisson ended the conversation by saying: "It seems your opinion is unique."

Earlier this week, the Brazilian shot-stopper offered advice to aspiring goalkeepers.

"Believe in your dreams! I once dreamt of becoming a great goalkeeper, of playing for SC Internacional," he told LFCGlobe.

"I once dreamt of playing in a Brazil shirt and a Liverpool shirt.

"I have managed to achieve these things by believing in my dreams and having my faith in God.

"I owe everything to God, who has taken me to a distant place from my home town Novo Hamburgo in Southern Brazil and brought me over to Liverpool.

"It feels like God has some nice plans for me."
