Ciaran Clark is out of Newcastle’s Premier League clash with Brighton after returning injured from international duty.
Clark missed the Republic of Ireland’s 1-0 Nations League defeat by Wales with a thigh problem and will not play for his club this weekend.
Full-back Paul Dummett (hamstring) is available, but while striker Salomon Rondon (thigh) has returned to light training he is still out, as is central defender Florian Lejeune (knee).
Brighton midfielder Davy Propper will be absent with an ankle problem.
The Holland international suffered the injury in Albion’s win over West Ham before the international break and is expected to be sidelined for several weeks.
Pascal Gross could be involved after returning to training following an ankle problem which has ruled him out since September 1, while fellow midfielder Dale Stephens (hamstring) and full-back Gaetan Bong (knee) also face late fitness tests.
