Maynard snatches point for Bury on his return to Crewe

Nicky Maynard fired in a second-half equaliser against his former club to secure Bury a 1-1 draw at Crewe.
Only inspired goalkeeping from Ben Garratt and the woodwork prevented the Shakers from registering their third win in four games on the road.
Crewe started well and skipper George Ray headed wide from a corner and Callum Ainley blasted a 20-yard effort just wide.
Nicky Adams posed the biggest threat for Bury in the first 45, diverting a low cross from Will Aimson into the side netting and then cutting in from the right flank to fire narrowly wide.
A moment of quality from veteran Nicky Hunt set up Crewe’s 37th-minute opener with the full-back floating a measured cross to the far post where Kirk buried his volley into the bottom corner.
Bury were vastly improved after the break and wing-backs Callum McFadzean and Adams frequently got behind the Crewe defence. McFadzean surged to the byline and pulled the ball back for Maynard to finish from close in nine minutes after the break.
Garratt kept out headers from Chris Stokes and Adam Thompson as Bury turned the screw.
McFadzean drove an angled effort onto the upright and Garratt continued his fine work when tipping over Maynard’s rising drive as Crewe hung on for a point.
