AFC Fylde continue to impress

Fylde extended their superb run to one defeat in 16 matches after dispatching Maidstone 2-0 at Mill Farm.
The Coasters nearly edged in front early on when Andy Bond’s header was cleared off the line by Jack Paxman.
After the break, the Stones pressed and Paxman’s exquisite volley deserved more than to rebound off the post. At the other end, Bond hit over from 12 yards when well-placed.
Fylde defender Neill Byrne came up for a corner and made the difference with a smart flick-header past Lee Worgan (68).
It helped to release the home side’s shackles and Arlen Birch put gloss on the win with a late second from 25 yards.
