Aldershot brush aside Halifax

Aldershot returned to winning ways in the National League as they registered a 3-0 victory over Halifax at the Recreation Ground.
Adam May, on loan from Portsmouth, opened the scoring in the eighth minute, slotting home his third goal of the season after Jake Gallagher had teed him up.
They doubled their advantage in the 20th minute when Matt McClure’s cross just evaded May but Adam McDonnell was on hand to tap in his first goal since January.
Halifax wasted a glorious chance to reduce the arrears when Nathan Clarke headed wide from close range.
Aldershot added a third two minutes into the second half when Gallagher looped a header over keeper Sam Johnson, who had fluffed a clearance to Scott Rendell, for his first goal of the season.
The visitors, now without a win in eight games, came close to a consolation but Jordan Preston’s powerful striker crashed against the crossbar.
