Tykes pegged back as Argyle end losing run

Barnsley had to settle for a 1-1 draw against rock-bottom Plymouth despite taking an early lead.
Alex Mowatt’s opener was cancelled out by Ruben Lameiras five minutes before half-time as winless Argyle earned only their fourth point of the season.
Barnsley made the brighter start, with Mamadou Thiam seeing his curling effort tipped over by keeper Matt Macey and then having another shot saved.
The hosts took an eighth-minute lead when Mowatt’s dipping effort from the edge of the area went in off the underside of the bar.
Plymouth then came into the game with Stuart O’Keefe’s volley going just over and Freddie Ladapo thwarted by keeper Adam Davies after being put through.
Ladapo put two further efforts wide before Lameiras equalised with a low 20-yard shot.
Plymouth’s Graham Carey shot just wide soon after the restart and Mowatt then went close to his second goal of the night with a shot which was well saved by Macey.
Barnsley threatened again when Brad Potts headed narrowly wide and Kieffer Moore fired over from inside the area.
