Steve Seddon strikes late Stevenage winner

Grimsby’s wait for a league goal continued as they slipped to a 1-0 defeat at Stevenage.
It has been 505 minutes since Jordan Cook bagged the Mariners’ last league goal at MK Dons over a month ago.
Grimsby have won just once in the league so far this season and Steve Seddon’s 83rd-minute goal condemned Michael Jolley’s side to their sixth league defeat.
Seddon spared the hosts’ frustration late on with an easy finish after Danny Newton’s surging run.
Eman Sonupe came closest to breaking the deadlock before the break with James McKeown getting down well to keep him out.
Danny Newton, who has scored in his last two outings, fired wide as the hosts continued to carve out chances.
After the restart Luther Wildin flicked the visitors’ bar with a powerful strike, with gutsy Grimsby defending keeping the hosts out for the majority.
McKeown was once again on hand to thwart the hosts by keeping out Alex Revell on the hour.
And Scott Cuthbert had a bullet header cleared off the line by Wes Thomas to add to the hosts’ missed chances.
