Tottenham Hotspur captain Hugo Lloris has failed to rule out a return from injury against Liverpool on Saturday.

The French World Cup winner has been suffering from a thigh injury and missed Spurs' 2-1 defeat at Watford.

Lloris admitted that he has 'no return date', however, his return on the weekend remains "possible".

Hugo Lloris missed France's games against both the Netherlands and Germany during the international break.

The Frenchman has been suffering from a thigh injury which caused him to miss Spurs' previous outing.

Tottenham had won all three of their opening fixtures with the 28-year-old featuring.

However, Michel Vorm was unable to keep Watford at bay with goals from Troy Deeney and Craig Cathcart claiming the Hornets three points.

Tottenham will be hoping that Lloris will be ready to face Liverpool on Saturday with the Reds' front-three looming.

Lloris told RMC Sport:
"Do I have a return date? Not yet. We're working hard to come back strong and as quickly as possible.

"There's perhaps a chance for this weekend, but we'll see depending on how things go this week."

The Tottenham Hotspur captain has also spoken of his "very special" relationship with manager Mauricio Pochettino.

Lloris said:

"We do not control everything, I'm focused on my daily life with Tottenham.

"The most important thing for me is to have fun every day, whether it's training, with my coach's philosophy.

"I have a very special relationship with Mauricio Pochettino.

"We try to contribute to the success of the club and progress each year.

"I am very happy where I am."
