Julen Lopetegui has it clear in his head that Karim Benzema is a fundamental player for him at Real Madrid with the Frenchman having played 390 minutes so far in four games.
It began on August 15th when Benzema played the European Super Cup against Atletico Madrid, in a three-man attack alongside Bale and Asensio. He struck after 27 minutes in a game that went into extra time.
Then in the first LaLiga Santander game of the season, Benzema started against Getafe and played the full 90 minutes as he did against away to Girona where he got a double.
Benzema went on to score two more against Leganes and so far has played every minute for Los Blancos.
What is really telling is that Benzema hadn't played four full matches since he arrived at the Bernabeu. His record up until now was three which happened a year ago with Zidane at the helm.
In fact on four occasions he had played three full games but now he has gone one better and it shows his current state of form.
