Salford inflict first defeat on Fylde

Salford City secured an impressive National League win at previously unbeaten AFC Fylde thanks to goals from Tom Walker and Adam Rooney at Mill Farm.
Walker put the visitors in front in the 26th minute after he found space in the area and fired beyond Fylde goalkeeper Jay Lynch from 12 yards.
Salford should have doubled their lead early in the second half when Danny Whitehead was sent through one-on-one with Lynch before pulling the ball back for Rooney, but Tom Brewitt was able to clear for a corner.
However, that only proved to be a temporary reprieve and former Aberdeen striker Rooney made no mistake in the 69th minute when he headed home from Nick Haughton’s cross.
