Kelly’s eye for goal proves decisive for Maidenhead

Josh Kelly’s quickfire brace led Maidenhead to a 2-0 Vanarama National League win over Eastleigh.
The visitors came close to going ahead after 10 minutes when Mark Yeates played in Mike Green down the left and he cut inside but saw his shot come back off the post.
Kelly opened the scoring a minute before the interval with a piece of individual brilliance as he picked the ball up in space, dribbled past two Eastliegh defenders and rounded Graham Stack to fire home.
And just 45 seconds later he doubled the advantage – with a stroke of luck on this occasion, as his attempted cross was blocked and fell back to him and he then drilled the ball into the roof of the net.
Eastleigh almost pulled one back before the break but Ollie Dennett saw his shot on the turn cleared off the line.
The second half had few clear-cut opportunities and play was halted briefly in the 70th minute after a drone flew over the stadium.
