Ramsey's future is up in the air this summer with Gunners chiefs struggling to hammer out a new deal for the Welshman.

Unai Emery is eager for Arsenal to keep hold of the midfielder but they know they cannot afford for him to run down the final 12 months of his contract.

Express Sport understands Chelsea and Liverpool are both interest in securing £35m-rated Ramsey's services before the transfer window shuts.

And reports have claimed Arsenal are fighting a losing battle to keep hold of the 27-year-old because he wants a staggering £300,000 a week.

That salary would see Aaron Ramsey surpass the likes of Mesut Ozil and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang to become the club's highest earner.

Avid Sports and Entertainment Group, who represent Ramsey, have shot down claims their client is asking for so much though.

A Twitter user replied to a now-deleted tweet regarding Ramsey demanding a £300,000-a-week contract, saying: "@avid_se [Avid Sports and Entertainment Group] any truth to this? please respond."

And Avid Sports and Entertainment Group responded bluntly, writing: "None whatsoever!"

New Arsenal head coach Emery discussed his desire for Emirates chiefs to tie Ramsey down after this week's win over Chelsea.

"I don't know," said Emery, when asked about a potential contract extension. "That is one question for the club and for the player.

"I am very concentrated. I am focused. My focus is thinking every day for training, the player, for the match against Lazio on Saturday and then Manchester City.

"The contract is one question for the club and for the player.

"Our opinion, my opinion is clear, I want him to be with us. But it is one question for continuing speaking the player and the club.

"My opinion is he's professional. He's a player I want in this team."

Henrikh Mkhitaryan, who joined Ramsey at Arsenal in January, is hoping the Cardiff youth product stays in north London beyond the summer.

"His work rate is very, very high and everyone appreciates what he does on the pitch and off it, because he's a true professional," said Mkhitaryan.

"Of course it's very easy to play next to him because he tries to be everywhere to help the team - to score goals, to assist, to tackle, recover balls - and that's why I'm going to be very happy if he stays at the club.

"I think he's been with the club for 10 years already and it seems that he became a symbol for this club.

"I will be very happy for him if he signs a new contract because he's in the history of Arsenal already and I hope he can become a legend for Arsenal after a few more years."
