Gareth Southgate’s squad are poised to face Belgium in the fight to win the third place play-off match this afternoon.

And the stunning WAGs on both sides are set to be a serious distraction for footie fans during the clash, at Saint Petersburg’s Krestovsky Stadium.

But supporters have been warned to stay away when our boys return home to Birmingham Airport tomorrow.

The airport posted on its Twitter feed: “Please be aware that there will be no public viewing area to see the England football team arrive home so we strongly advise the public not to come to Birmingham Airport as you will not see the team.”

The announcement disappointed thousands of devoted fans who had hoped to give the squad a heroes welcome.

One supporter wrote in response: “Thanks Birmingham, good to see you catching the mood of the Nation and providing wonderful customer service as usual!”

But the airport replied: “We understand you want to support the team but it’s not the Airport’s decision whether or not to hold a homecoming event for them.”

HEROES: But fans will not be welcome to greet the England squad at the airport

England brought the nation together with this year’s World Cup run and left millions heartbroken after narrowly losing out to Croatia in Wednesday’s semi-final, watched on TV by 27million people.

Scores of disgruntled fans slated the decision on social media, branding it a “bloody shambles”.

Stevie Buk wrote: “What a bunch of unpatriotic miserable gits. Have a heart and let the country greet their heroes.”

Hannah Kane said: "Poor effort from Birmingham Airport to allow the British public to express our pride and congratulations to what must be an exhausted and disheartened team of heros."

Denise Cashmere said: "It would have been so nice to have the opportunity to congratulate them, it's always London that has the pleasure to show our gratitude of our English teams coming home."

LEGEND: Gareth Southgate waves to devoted England supporters

Now fans have called for a welcoming home parade at St George’s Park, the FA’s national football centre.

Some have threatened to defy the airport with one posting: “We’re coming whether you’re ready or not.”

England had an open top bus parade with thousands lining the route from Luton Airport after the squad reached the semi finals in 1990.
