Kane, 24, was mentioned in a tweet detailing Ben Williams' fight against cancer.

Liam Herbert – a specialist paediatric radioographer – told the World Cup leading scorer that he had completed radiotherapy for a brain tumour.

He said: "Ben has just completed his radiotherapy for a brain tumour, he was unable to walk and talk before his treatment but a week ago he asked for the World Cup, so we delivered.

"England and Harry Kane can you do the same?"

The video shows Ben in a hospital before he unwraps a replica World Cup trophy.

"Carry on fighting and we'll do everything we can on Saturday to keep a smile on your face. #BensWorldCup."

One fan said: "He gets some stick but this is lovely. Someone's cutting onions around here (tears emoji)."

Another said: "You're a credit to the armband, a true lion. Good luck tomorrow to you and all the lads."

And another hailed: "Tears. Thank God for people like Kane and for the people who keep the NHS alive."
