Arsenal striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang appeared to break a club record for the triple-hop upon his return to pre-season training.
Aubameyang joined Arsenal in the January transfer window from Borussia Dortmund, where he scored 141 goals in 213 appearances across all competitions in five seasons.
The Gabon international made a fine start to life at Arsenal, finding the net 10 times in 13 Premier League games as the Gunners finished sixth in the table.
The Arsenal players who haven’t been on international duty at the World Cup this summer, including Aubameyang, have now returned to the club for pre-season training.
And it seems the 29-year-old has returned to the Londoners in ideal shape if a video posted on the club’s official Youtube channel is anything to go by.
Aubameyang took part in a triple-hop test and appeared to set a new club record.
After completing the test an off-camera voice, likely a member of the fitness or coaching staff, says: “Hey, this is a club record – seven, nine, seven.”
The “797” probably means 7.97 metres.
Aubameyang will be hoping to break more records for Arsenal on the pitch next season.
The Gunners’ 2018/19 campaign begins next month with a match against Premier League champions Manchester City at the Emirates.
